Wondering what baby items, you’re going to need for your 9-12 month old? Here is a list of all the baby essentials we absolutely loved having! Everything from feeding supplies, clothing, toys and bath gear!
There are so many baby items out there today that it can be super overwhelming when trying to decide on products to buy. I know for me it was so helpful to look at reviews and what other people were using to help us make decisions on what to get for Riley.
Babies needs change so much from month to month that I thought it would be helpful to give you guys an updated post of the baby essentials we loved in the 9-12 month stage. If you’re not quite here yet, check out my 6-9 month baby essentials post to help you out!
This post is all about baby essentials for months nine to twelve.
Food Items
The basics we loved when first starting solids that I mentioned in my 6-9 month baby must haves post, are still used ALL the time! We have just added a few additional supplies Riley needed as she got older!
Sippy Cups
At this age Riley started to drink water more than just a couple of sips with her meals. This meant that we needed some sippy cups for when she wasn’t stationary to prevent spills. We still love her ezpz mini open cup for at meals but here are a few of our favorite sippy cups!
Bowls
I love the plates and bowls that suction to the highchair best! These days little miss likes to pick them up and dump all the food out. Here are a few of our favorites!
- ezpz Mini Bowl
- WeeSprout Silicone Sunction Bowls
- I also really like this bowl because it acts as a steamer and a bowl! No need to dirty two bowls when heating up food. However, it does not have a suction 😔
Snacks
Favorite snacks!
- Favorite Puffs– grain free and no added sugar with minimal added ingredients
- Dried Fruit
- Munchkin Snack Container
Bath Time
Riley loves bath time! Around nine months is when we stopped using her baby tub and started sitting her right in the tub. A nonslip mat and some other bath safety items were purchased for the switch along with a few bath toys to play with!
Bath Safety
Bathtubs can be very slippery, so when Riley got too big for her baby tub, we needed to figure out what supplies we needed for a safe bath time. We found the below products and absolutely love them for a fun bath time!
Bath Toys
Like I mentioned before, Riley loves bathtub. Having a couple go to toys that she loves for the bath makes it even more enjoyable for her!
- Lego Floating Toys
- Fishing Set
- Cups- part of a Lovevery subscription box (more info in toy section!)
- Bath Squirts
Baby Toys
When looking at baby toys the amount of options can be overwhelming. There are so many brands and different choices out there that it can be difficult to make a decision. I always love to see what other Moms are using out there to help me make decisions. So, here is a list of our top baby toys!
Walker
One reason I chose to go with this walker is because I wanted something that Riley wouldn’t outgrow after she learned to walk. She is now walking full time and still loves to sit and play with the camper! It is great because it has shape sorting, sings songs and is great for pretend play.
Puzzles
Riley loves to pick up and dump the puzzles. She is starting to try to put them back in, but it has been great fine motor practice to pick them up. Here are a few of our favorite puzzles:
Subscription Boxes
Okay guys, I was very hesitant when it came to subscription boxes. They are definitely a little pricey. But let me tell you they are well worth it! The quality is amazing, and they are made from organic and natural materials that are safe for your little one and for the planet! We love our Lovevery boxes!
Other Items We’re Loving
There are a few more baby essentials for 9-12 months that we are loving that don’t exactly fit into the other categories. Here we go!
Shoes
Once Riley started walking with us holding her hand, she wanted to walk that way EVERYWHERE! We needed to invest in some shoes because she was wanted to walk around outside. We bought a little pair of sneakers from Target to get her started and my mom bought her a pair of shoes with more support from Stride Rite. We are loving both pairs!
Car Seat
Up until 12 months we had Riley in this newborn car seat. We got this one which we love at 12 months. It is a 4 in 1 car seat so it will grow with Riley up to a booster seat. We loved her newborn car seat because it could clip into stroller, and we could take it in and out with us if she fell asleep. She was definitely ready for the bigger car seat at 12 months!
Diapers
Okay diapers are on here because they are probably our most frequently used item! I specifically want to talk about nighttime diapers. We have been using the honest overnight diapers for a while now after trying a couple different brands. These are by far our favorites. The other brands Riley would still soak through during the night. The honest overnights seem to absorb much better for the duration of the night.
Baby Gate
Our final baby essential is a good old baby gate. When Riley started walking the gate was a must have. We have a set of stairs that Riley loves climbing, and we need a gate up almost all of the time to block the stairs. Here is the gate we use. It is pretty simple and nothing fancy, but it does the job of keeping little Miss safe!
Well, there you have it! A list of baby essentials for 9-12 months!
I hope you found this helpful!
