Hey guys! Have you been looking for clean beauty products that you switch to? We are going to be covering clean beauty products that you can (and should 😉) start using right away! Products like make up, hair care, soaps and lotions all have cleaner, safer alternatives!
Finding clean beauty products can seem a little daunting and you might think your wallet is going to take a hit. But in fact, finding clean beauty products that you can use every day doesn’t have to be hard or break the bank. Clean beauty products also have a bad reputation as not being as good or as high quality as the big brand names. In my opinion and experience I don’t find that to be true. The clean products work just as great, and I feel better using these products on my body and around my little one.
This post is all about clean beauty products!
Why Clean Beauty Products?
Our skin is the largest organ in our body, and it absorbs everything we put on it. Conventional beauty products are filled with harmful ingredients such as parabens, synthetic fragrance, sulfates and more. These ingredients are known endocrine disruptors. It is so easy for companies to put these terrible ingredients in our products because the rules and regulations surrounding this are very easy to work around. For example, when you see the ingredient fragrance listed on a product, there are so many ingredients that could make up that “fragrance” but they don’t have to list them all out if they include the ingredient fragrance.
I am super passionate about living a non-toxic lifestyle and I always try to bring the safest products into my home. There are many reasons to switch out conventional beauty products for clean beauty products. Here is a post all about ditching and switching products in your home. Makeup
I am very minimal when it comes to my makeup routine. I only use a few products daily. However, makeup sits on your skin all day long, close to your eyes mouth etc. I feel so much better applying my makeup knowing it’s clean and non-toxic.
- Mascara– This mascara is from Young Living. It is certified cruelty free and is free from parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, mineral oil, carmine, petroleum products, or synthetic dyes. A bonus with getting mascara from YL is that it is infused with cedarwood, and rosemary essential oils nourish and condition lashes.
- Eye Shadow– Here is the eye shadow I LOVE! It is also from Young Living. The eye shadow has such warm tones for an eye shadow, and it is also certified cruelty free. It is made with natural ingredients and infused with lavender essential oil. I also love it because when I put it on in the morning it lasts all day!
- Mirah Luminous Cleansing Oil– I love this stuff! It is the PERFECT makeup remover. I talk more about it here in my post about my favorite skincare products!
Hair Care
Many of the products I have and will be mentioning are from Young Living! I LOVE their products!! I don’t have to worry about if they are truly a clean beauty product and I feel 100% at ease knowing I am bringing safe products into my home when I buy from them. - Shampoo– Love this shampoo, it smells great, and it cleanses my hair. It is formulated with plant-based cleansers and infused with an aromatic blend of Lavender, Peppermint, and Spearmint premium essential oils. A trick I learned when I switched to a natural shampoo is to wash twice. The first wash lifts all the oils and dirt from your hair and the second wash really cleanses the scalp.
- Conditioner– I’ve tried a couple of different natural conditioners and this one is my favorite. I always come back to it! I like to dilute it with water because it is very thick, and I like a creamier conditioner. It is super hydrating and leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth.
- Orange Essential Oil– You might think this is an odd one for clean hair products, but orange EO is a must-have for me! It is a natural way to reduce frizz! I rub a couple drops into my palms and run it through my hair once I’ve styled it.
Body Care
When it comes to taking care if my skin I really watch the products I am using. I’ve always struggled with dry skin, especially my hands and wrists. Conventional soaps and lotions only dried them out more. Not to mention when rubbing soap and lotion all over your body it is being absorbed right into your skin. I love these clean body products!
- Bar Soap– This bar soap is made with the absorption properties of activated charcoal. It cleanses excess oil from the skin to unclog pores, and removes dirt, oil, and impurities from the skin. I LOVE the smell of this soap. It is made with YL’s premium Orange Blossom essential oil blend, which makes it smell so good. I use this soap on my body and my face. It leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth and moisturized.
- Bar Soap– This is the lavender oatmeal bar soap. I switch between the two bar soaps. The lavender oatmeal soap is a natural exfoliator and removes dirt and extra oil from your skin but does not dry it out. It is made from five premium essential oils helps replenish hydration to thirsty skin. It is infused with lavender, coriander, bergamot, ylang ylang, and geranium essential oils. The ingredients in this soap are super moisture-rich which helps hydrate my skin.
- Body Wash– I don’t use this body wash very often but I like to have it on hand in case we are traveling, or I run out of the bar soap. This is a bath and shower gel base which means you can add essential oils to it to customize it for your mood or unique skin needs. My favorite essential oils to add are valor, stress away and lavender.
Perfume
I love using essential oils as a natural perfume! It is the easiest way to use clean beauty products. To find out my favorite blends for perfume rollers click here!
- Valor– Valor is one of my favorite oils to use as a natural perfume because it’s smell amazing and is referred to as bravery in a bottle. It is made using frankincense, black spruce, blue tansy, camphor wood, and geranium. Apply valor to your inner wrists or neck as a perfume to instill feelings of courage and confidence!
- Stress Away– Stress away is another one of my favorites! This oil features copaiba, lime, cedarwood, vanilla, Ocotea, and lavender which makes is smell like vacation in a bottle! Just like the name says apply as a perfume to have a happy and positive day.
- Kidpower– Kidpower is a great smelling blend to help inspire feelings of confidence and positivity. Kidpower is from Young Living’s Kidscents line which means that it is already prediluted for children over the age of two to apply topically! Even though I am not a kid, I love to use kidpower because it smells like an orange creamsicle!
Using clean beauty products has become a very important part of my non-toxic lifestyle. Young Living has so many products I love using. When I purchase from YL I know I can count on them to provide my family and I with safe, plant-based products that are better for our bodies. Using clean beauty products has made a huge difference in how I feel, and I hope you can find some products to try!
