Hey there! Interested in learning what to do with essential oils? I am going to be giving you a list of the top uses of essential oils and how I use essential oils every day!
This post is all about six everyday uses of essential oils!
I love using essential oils. I’ve been using them for over a year now and I can tell you honestly, I don’t’ go a day without using an oil. I use them in DIY recipes, in the diffuser, as perfume and so many other ways. We are going to chat about how easy and beneficial using essential oils is.
This post is all about the top uses of essential oils.
Let’s Start Here
Let me just start by saying not all essential oils are made equally. The essential oils I love, and use are from Young Living. You can read more about why I chose Young Living here! But for a quick reason YL only has pure high-quality oils that are 100% pure plant juice! Young Living owns all their own farms and oversees all the distilleries.
Everyday Uses of Essential Oils
1. Diffusing
Who doesn’t love a cozy smelling home? Instead of burning candles I diffuse essential oils. There are so many benefits to diffusing instead of burning candles. You can read about them here. I also love diffusing because you can switch up the scent to match the time of year or your mood for the day. Feeling a little tired, diffuse an energizing blend of citrus fresh and stress away. Want something to help you wind down for the day? Diffuse some peace & calming and lavender. Here are some of my top blends to diffuse!
2. Apply Topically
I love to apply essential oils to use as my natural perfume! You can apply oils topically to help support your body in so many ways. There are essential oils to help support anxious feelings, to help you get through a hard day, to support sleep and SO many more! Some oils need to be diluted with a carrier oil when applying topically so be sure to check your labels. Neat oils are oils you can apply without diluting. You can even make a roller bottle to mix oils together to create a perfume or different blends to support an area of concern. One example is adding sleep support oils such as lavender and cedarwood in a bottle for a sleepy blend.
3. Adding to Dryer Balls
This is another way I use oils all the time. Whenever I throw a load of laundry into the dryer, I add a few drops of an oil to help freshen up my clothes even more. I use a non toxic laundry detergent that has a very soft scent so adding oils on the dryer balls just enhances the smell. My favorites to add to dryer balls are gentle baby, lavender and citrus fresh. Dryer balls are a great alternative to dryer sheets. Laundry products are one of the most toxic products in your house. 4. Customizing Soaps
I DIY a lot of the household products in my home. I use essential oils to customize the different scents and add a little boost. For hand soap I use castile soap as the base and add Thieves essential oil to boost the immunity properties and depending on the season I’ll add different oils for the scent. For spring my favorite is Luchious lemon. In my laundry soap I add orange essential oil to act as a degreaser.
5. Skin Care
Speaking of DIYs, I love them for my skin care products! I make my own face wash and glow serum using essential oils. I use both of these products every night before bed. You can check out this post here to get both of these recipes! Lavender and frankincense are two amazing skin supporting oils that are in both of these recipes. Frankincense helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and helps the appearance of uneven skin tones. Lavender helps reduce the appearance of blemishes and can help soothe irritated skin.
6. Cleaning
I use essential oils every day to clean my home. I use a non toxic multipurpose cleaner made from Thieves household cleaner and add essential oils to that cleaner. This household cleaner is perfect for kitchen countertops, bathroom sinks and tubs, glass and I use it to clean my floors! I add different essential oils to the cleaner to customize the scent or give the cleaner a little boost. For example in my kitchen cleaner I add lemon EO to help with sticky counter tops or I’ll add Christmas Spirit in the winter.
These are the six everyday uses of essential oils and the ways I use them every day. Here is a list of my favorite Young Living products including some favorite essential oils. I seriously do not go a day without essential oils, and they have become a staple in my everyday routine.
